A little confused just about my spinal column xray.?

I have been have some problems with my hips and pain going down mostly my not here leg. I had a couple days where I couldn't bearing. Chiropractor said my L5 vertebrae has no space between it and S1. He said it's very compressed. I am on a DTS contraption and was told i had to be on bed rest. I own no money to go to a Dr or get an MRI, I hold no insurance. I also need to go rear to work, which everyone said no to. Is this a major deal? Should I be worried? I really stipulation to work, I can't even afford to go to the chiropractor to stay on the DTS machine.
