What is a step up from Tramadol?
I have Fibromyalgia and Hypermobility Syndrome, possibly Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have surrounded by extreme pain all of the time. I'm on Tramadol (the brand describe here in the US is Ultram) and I was wondering what is a step up from it. I want to put rotten going on narcotics as long as possible. Is there a step up from Tramadol that is NOT a narcotic? Thanks so much.

I know it is hard- I work with a lot of general public with these conditions, but I honestly believe that there comes a point where on earth you have to stop 'upping the medication'. More and more they are using (in the UK) pain organization techniques which teaches populace how to deal with the misery. Also keeping active really does help too. The smaller quantity you do, the more your body will struggle with doing a little.
I know this post is probably not what you considered necessary to hear, but i'm just being honest.
This is a rugged question . I am in chronic niggle and I don't want to make the transition into the realm of narcotics any but this is the catch, Tramadol is "narcotic-like" anyway. I have be on narcotics on and off for twelve years and Tramadol for over a year now. When I stir a few days without Tramadol I feel only as bad as I did when I quit taking actual narcotics. The only sense Tramadol is not called an actual narcotic is because it is not classified as a controlled substance. Some sites including the official Ultram video on youtube call it a narcotic. If it is this close anyway then maybe for the sake of nouns you should take hydrocodone or oxycodone. Another choice is to move up to Ultacet which is Ultram with acetaminophen added. You can also lug Naproxen with your tramadol and it has a perfect synergistic effect and works well together. Here is a interesting explanation of Tamadol to help you kind your decision..."Tramadol is a man-made (synthetic) analgesic (pain reliever). Its exact mechanism of act is unknown but similar morphine. Like morphine, tramadol binds to receptors in the brain (opioid receptors) that are important for transmitting the sensation of aching from throughout the body to. Tramadol, like other narcotics used for the treatment of pain, may be abused. Tramadol is not a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) and does not enjoy the increased risk of stomach ulceration and internal bleeding that can occur with NSAIDs. "................I craving you the best.
Sorry, its opioids. If you are contained by that much pain, and its making your life a living hell, I cannot infer why you would hesitate to try anything that might help you. If you are afraid of "getting addicted" to niggle medication, you need to do some research on that topic, because most of what you have hear is biased, brainwashing propaganda.
