A few broken ankle question?

im a fifteen year old girl (sixteen in two weeks), and a motor accident caused me to break my right ankle within two places. im going to have surgery tomorrow, get some screw and two plates inserted, and il going to be on crutches for 4-6 weeks and in an air die for 6-12 weeks with pyschical therapy.

i be reading other peoples stories online about their broken ankles and now im terrified to death. I heard citizens say their ankles, even after the cast be off was permanetly deformed and significant and that even years later they still have a flabby.... granted, most of these stories were from older empire with kids but will it happen to me too? Will i ever be capable of walk normally again? Will my ankle never be duplicate? Is it always deformed, or is that juse some cases?

im just really anxious cause i still have 2 3/4 more years of highschool to look forward to.... and i simply want to be able to walk typically and enjoy it.

Maybe. Drink a lot of milk. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Yes.
Most likely you will end up fine next to no limp. There's always a accident but not a big one. Don't worry about it. You're reclamation will probably be sucessful
Don't worry, you should be totally fine..IF you embezzle care of yourself and follow your doctor's orders. I broke my ankle when I be in high academy and I didn't use crutches when I was supposed to so my ankle healed unusual and it cracks all the time, but it isn't deformed or anything. You are young so your ankle will be much easier to restore to health than older people's. Don't worry, it won't be deformed, you will be capable of walk normally, only just please take care of yourself and don't overdo it!! Use your crutches, save up with physical therapy, wear your aircast, elevate your foot, and you'll be fine!

Get very well soon hun!
hi, like you said, most of these stories be from older people and so i contemplate it is highly unlikely that you will not be able to hoof it properly and have a limp. However, i am no doctor, so you should discuss these concerns near her/him.
if the operation goes well you should be all right on the way to full recovery! variety sure you are eating sensibly, getting lots of calcium and vitamins to stimulate bone growth and work hard with your physio and you should be as virtuous as new in no time.
providing that the surgeons put your ankle hindmost together properly (which i can assure you they will do!!) you should have no deformity and should be exactly matching as it is now!
you will almost certainly enjoy arthritis / joint problems in your subsequently life - but 30 ish years from now! and most society will get some form of joint problem surrounded by their life so there is nil to worry about! one word of counsel is dont rely to heavily on your other foot and ankle after recovery, during its obviously going to be thorny! because if you dont 'treat both ankles as equals' this could cause you problems with both ankles then on (again 30 ish years from now!) i hope that doesnt scare you and answers your question!
good luck with the surgery! and i yearning you a full and speedy recovery! Source(s): student radiographer
