The swine flu is more infectious and does it's damage in a few weeks. And can destroy in a few weeks compared to second hand smoke, which you can avoid at the present time. Swine flu.
I would say smoking. Epidemics like the swine flu across the world affect the population at once, and immunity in the population eventually occur. In the short time swine flu would be. But like most infectious disease outbreaks the pass next to the community developing immunity. However smoking leads to crucial chronic diseases which ultimately put more pressure on the health system. Diseases like heart disease, lung cancer and other cancer, emphysema etc. do not necesssarily kill the people suffering from them and result surrounded by years of medications, treatments and surgeries, costing the health systme billions annually.
