2 question in the order of platelet counts surrounded by a cancer forgiving (on chemo)...my count be at 30 on Thursday...?
they said if it continues to drop into the low 20s or below then I'll need transfusions. This is the 2nd time it's dropped so low.
1-What are transfusions and does it require hospitilization?
2-Does your body show physical signs when they verbs to drop?
I knew they were low because I be bleeding without clotting well and brusing on my legs glibly, but the bleeding and brusing has gotten better over the weekend, but I feel approaching crap now and it worries me. I go within for lab work again today, but I'm worrying myself.

Your oncologist will make every effort to be paid sure you are able to get your platelets contained by the doctor's office. There are times however, when coming to the hospital as an outpatient is necessary. Usually, outpatient infusions within the outpatient setting is on the weekends or holidays.
Besides what the above poster has already told you, other symptoms you may see are nose bleeding and gum bleeding.
You've probably hold had your lab work and probably 2 units of platelets by in a minute. My guess is that you will need to have your platelet count checked again right earlier Thanksgiving to see how your platelet count is holding up.

Of course blood PRODUCTS usually comes from another personage so the lab need to make sure you are a meeting for the blood products you are receiving to avoid a possible reaction. We stipulation to be very careful near platelet transfusions because your body will develop antibodies against the platelet transfusions. To decrease this risk the MD will often directive the platelets to be irradiated and leuko poor (removal of white blood cell).
