How various sets is too masses for a complete workout session?
i workout for four days a week........monday and thursday(upper) and tuesday and friday(legs)....i take the other days off...i do going on for 20-23 sets per workout session.....is that too many? or is that just adequate?

Depends if you're letting your body get used to the weight first, by following the training programme chart you go and get with your weight bench or weights. If you start to attain tired and feel you're about to drop it, specifically when you've reached the limit your body is competent to do.
