Can I capture to a pretty good plane of fitness?
Ok I'm 48, overweight, I smoke and my knees hurt, my joints don't work as well as they used to, and I attain very out of breath when I run, I know I requirement to give up smoking; but after about 7 ruined attempts I'm not sure it can be done, esp as my wife says I'm very moody when I bestow up, also I have a big belly (can that impact on my breathing, I'm not sure) so the question is can I regain some amount of fitness and how and what should I do if I can?
Apart from the above I'm all tickety boo :-)

You can always get to a temperate level of fitness. I knew a character: 32 years old, 5'7 and 350 pounds. That was four years ago. He is very soon somewhere within a 10 pound range from 200 pounds.
Anything's possible beside time and effort. If you really want to make the shift, it will happen.
