For one thing, fat, in proper moderation, help speed up the metabolism and burn corpulent faster (specifically Coconut Oil). Protein also contains fat, but within moderation. Without fats, vitamins & minerals from foods cannot be incorporated into the body. Fats are needed along with protein for cellular creation & fat are needed for hormones.
