Infections 6 months after suitability tooth removal?
I had my impacted wisdom tooth taken out just about 6 months ago. It wasn't causing me any problems but there be a cyst starting to form around it. A couple days after having it removed I developed dry socket. I was contained by serious pain every day for in the order of 2 weeks. About a month after it finally started healing I noticed the nouns swelling up. Went back to the oral surgeon and he gave me penicillin which reduced the swelling. Again a couple of months after that impossible to tell apart thing happened. I go back and received more penicillin. For about 3 months very soon everything was fine. Now two days ago my mouth started swelling and it is tender to the touch. You can see the swelling just by looking at the side of my facade. I have an appointment with my regular dentist tomorrow. I be just wondering if anyone else ever this kind of problem and what it could be. Thanks!

The desirability tooth should be 100% healed after 6 months. I would suspect that the infection is coming from another tooth. You need to hold a dentist check things out and possibly put you on some antibiotics. Good luck. Source(s): A dentist
