Lost blood clot after 5 days?

I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Monday - it is presently the following Saturday (5 days after). This afternoon before eating my lunch I feel something in my mouth. When it came out I looked at it but be not sure what it was. It may have be a blood clot but it could also have been some food. The site itself in a minute seems "bottomless", but there is no aching or sensitivity to cold/heat, etc. Has the site healed enough even so to ward off the dreaded dry socket? How would I know if I did indeed dislodge the blood clot? How long until the dry socket pain kick in?
Answers:
After 5 days the chances of getting a dry socket are enormously slim. Whatever you saw was nothing to verbs about. If you had a dry socket you would own extreme pain. Source(s): A dentist
