Why did my makeshift padding turn gray?

i got a root canal on this tooth 4 or 5 months ago and my dentist said it didin't have need of a crown for a while. my temporary filling is presently sensitive to hot and it a dark gray color. aren't these fillings white? i believe it used to be white..? i'm tremendously scared so if anyone knows what this could be please comment.. thankfulness.

A temporary filling is not designed to last more than a couple of months and will then start to break down. Color amendment can be a sign of this happening. I am more concerned why your tooth is sensitive to temperature. A root strait on a tooth , removes the nerve of the tooth and this should not occur.
