Could wearing a rubber leash around my front 2 teeth close my tear?

I in fact had to have an operation so they could bring in a cut where the gap is first. I forget what it be, but they had to make the cut within order to get the teeth to come close together. You might call for that, too.
Braces apply much more pressure than a rubber band, and for all sunshine, every day for months. You're not going to get that manner of pressure with just a rubber decoration.
Sorry, you'll have to spend the money on a professional. Or just embrace it and look at pictures of model Lauren Hutton and actor/governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who both enjoy the gap.

But it wont stay. The tooth has memory and it is held in a tooth socket that will move it right put money on after a few hours. Plus the rubber band thing is mortified, to say the least (I tried it when I be young)
This is how it works:
Each tooth is held in its socket by the alveolar bone (mandible/the bone that you would call your jaw)
When you receive braces, the orthodontist connects wires across the whole arch of your jaw. There are little bony extensions that dance between each socket and the wires on your braces SLOWLY, OVER LONG PERIODS OF TIME produce 1) pressure that causes one side of the bone to break down so the tooth can move, and 2) stiffness that causes the bone to rebuild surrounded by the new space. For longterm, HEALTHY results you need to draw from orthodontic treatment (braces). Otherwise its just a waste of time.

It will only create unmarked gaps and might actually organize to gum problems as it will push the teeth close together too quickly. Go see a orthodontist for this.
